Our Story
About New Zealand is a brand of About Australia, a company founded back in 1999 when two adventurous Aussies, Paul and Veronica, set out from the sandy beaches of Australia to launch About Australia in San Antonio, Texas.
Their goal? Help North Americans experience the authentic wonders of their corner of the world, with tailor-made journeys and exceptional service as the foundation.
Our journey didn’t stop there. As our love for the South Pacific grew, so did our expertise. This prompted us to expand into New Zealand, Fiji, and the rest of the South Pacific. In 2014, we launched About New Zealand to connect even more travelers with the beauty, culture, and unique experiences of Aotearoa.
When the world pressed pause in 2020, our team worked tirelessly to take care of our travelers. Even as borders closed for 2 years, we went to bat for our clients, negotiating flexible arrangements and keeping those Kiwi dreams alive.
In 2021, founders Paul and Veronica retired, entrusting their legacy to three long-time team members, Melanie, Sally, and Melissa. Each played an integral role in building the About Australia and About New Zealand brands since 2010. These passionate travel pros have weathered every storm and celebrated every triumph alongside our clients, carrying forward the same dedication, care, and personal touch that’s been our hallmark from day one.
