New Zealand Getaway

Rotorua

Start your getaway in the “Geothermal Wonderland” known as Rotorua. This town is the heart of New Zealand’s Maori culture, where its volcanic features, geysers and hot springs are deeply rooted within the town’s Maori history.

Spend two nights in a comfortable and clean 4-star apartment-style motel, where your gracious hosts are on hand to assist in any way possible. Explore the surrounds of your accommodation: visit museums, galleries and other top Rotorua attractions, all within minutes of your hotel.

Get ready for an authentic, one of-a-kind evening event at Te Puia, Rotorua’s Maori cultural hub. You’ll enjoy a feast of storytelling, entertainment and traditional Maori cuisine like no other. Watch as baskets filled with delicious meats and vegetables are lowered into an underground oven and are cooked to perfection by the heat emitted from the earth, a traditional cooking method called Hangi.

As the Hangi is prepared, you’ll witness stunning cultural performances featuring traditional storytelling and entertainment. You’ll have the opportunity to join in the graceful poi dance or ferocious haka for a more intimate Maori cultural experience.

Afterwards, indulge in your specially prepared feast of delicious Maori cuisine. At the end of the night you’ll be transported to Te Puia’s famous Pohutu Geyser, where you’ll enjoy a magical evening of storytelling underneath a starry sky.

Nelson

The next day, head south to Nelson where you’ll stay three nights at a 4-star apartment-style motel. This location is the perfect base to explore the local wine regions, stunning Abel Tasman National Park and Tahuna Beach. Nelson city is just a few a minutes drive away.

Hop aboard a boat and set out for Anchorage to Abel Tasman National Park. This world famous park is a nature lovers dream. Your relaxing walking-tour takes you to Abel Tasman’s golden sand beaches, lush, untouched bush and the turquoise waters of Anchorage and Torrent Bay.

Take a walk around Te Pukatea Bay and stop at Pitt Head lightouse for panoramic views of the bay and surrounding estuary. Then, spend the day relaxing on the beach. Or take a quick jaunt over to Cleopatra’s Pool – a natural pool on the Torrent River surrounded by lush jungle and river rock.

With the rest of your time in Nelson, immerse yourself in the lifestyle of this creative town with a rich arts culture. Browse and shop contemporary, traditional and Maori artwork from the many different studios and galleries in the city. Go on a wine tasting of one of the local vineyards. Take a sea kayaking tour to see local wildlife like fur seals and blue penguins.

Or simply relax on those golden sand beaches you’ve seen in pictures. The choice is yours. All you have to do is let your desire lead the way.

Queenstown

After you’ve explored Nelson, head down to Queenstown for three nights in one of New Zealand’s most famous cities. Your accommodation sits in a tranquil lakefront setting only a minute’s walk from the heart of the city with shopping, restaurants, nightlife and activities all within easy reach.

The next day, you’ll enjoy a quintessential Kiwi experience – a delicious gourmet BBQ lunch and a farm tour in a stunning lakeside setting.

Cruise aboard the historic TSS Earnslaw across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm. Once there, you can sit back on the lakeside terrace of the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant and savor the delicious aromas as our chef has the best of local produce, sizzling away on the grill.

After your lunch, you can join an entertaining farm demonstration or explore the beautiful lakeside gardens.

The rest of your time in Queenstown is all your own. You have the option of touring the world-famous Milford Sound for epic views of glacier-carved fiords, or seeing Queenstown by air on a scenic helicopter flight.

By the end of your trip you’ll have seen the best of New Zealand’s beauty and experienced its unique Maori culture. This will be a trip you’ll look back on for years to come.
