If you think about it, your wedding day is as much about your family and friends as it is about you.

You picked the invitations that they received. You planned the venue that they attended. You even picked the food that they ate!

But your honeymoon?

This one’s all about you.

Just you, your significant other and the unparalleled setting of one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

It’s a story you will tell for the rest of your life – why not write the best one you possibly can?

Start your romantic getaway off in the “City of Sails” in Auckland. Spend two nights surrounded by the stunning Waitemata Harbour. Explore a new land with the special person in your life with a free day to go at your own pace.

If your thing is the great outdoors, try a walk, swim or hike through any of Auckland’s 25 parks. You’re also close to the beautiful islands of the Hauraki Gulf and even the only rainforest that exists outside of the tropics.

We think the serendipity of exploring on your own adds a bit of magic to your trip, but if you’d like, take an expert-guided tour of the city to hear stories and history of Auckland’s past and present.

Or maybe you want to keep the party from your special day rolling? Head to Auckland’s famed K Road for clubs and pubs that will keep you dancing until morning.

And if you’re simply looking for a bit of relaxation and tranquility, you have the option to visit the Polynesian Spa, a Top-10 world rated spa. And a bit of pampering might do you some good before embarking on the rest of your amazing

honeymoon.

The next day, head south to Nelson. Your accommodation is nestled right next to Nelson city center. With sweeping views of the mountains in Kahurangi National Park and the pristine waters of Waimea Inlet, your stay is sure to be a relaxing retreat, deserving of the most important vacation of your life.

Hop aboard a boat and set out for Anchorage to Abel Tasman National Park. This world famous park is a nature lovers dream. Your relaxing walking-tour takes you to Abel Tasman’s golden sand beaches, lush, untouched bush and the turquoise waters of Anchorage and Torrent Bay.

Take a walk around Te Pukatea Bay and stop at Pitt Head lightouse for panoramic views of the bay and surrounding estuary. Then, spend the day relaxing on the beach. Or take a quick jaunt over to Cleopatra’s Pool – a natural pool on the Torrent River surrounded by lush jungle and river rock.

With the rest of your time in Nelson, immerse yourself in the lifestyle of this creative town with a rich arts culture. Browse and shop contemporary, traditional and Maori artwork from the many different studios and galleries in the city. Go on a wine tasting of one of the local vineyards. Take a sea kayaking tour to see local wildlife like fur seals and blue penguins.

After you’ve explored Nelson, head down to Queenstown for three nights in one of New Zealand’s most famous cities. Your accommodation offers up serene views of mountains, lakes and tranquil gardens.

The next day, you’ll tour the Dart River by boat, foot and four-wheel drive coach as you explore the wilderness of this World Heritage area.

Hop aboard a 1.5-hour jet boat cruise through the Dart River system. Unmatched views of snow-covered mountains, waterfalls and valleys illustrate exactly why New Zealand is consistently rated one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Then, you’ll set off on foot for a 40 minute guided hike along the Heritage Trail. Learn about the history that led this prized area to be awarded a World Heritage designation with entertaining commentary by an expert guide.

Your tour concludes with a four-wheel drive coach ride along a scenic back road. Along the way you’ll see beautiful sites and backdrops, including some of the setting scenery from “The Lord of the Rings”.

By land and by sea, this chapter of your honeymoon story is one you’ll want to revisit over and over again.

The rest of your time in Queenstown is all your own. You have the option of touring the world-famous Doubtful Sound for epic views of glacier-carved fiords.

And if you really want to make your honeymoon unforgettable, Queenstown is of course known for it’s skydiving and bungy jumping.

Now that’s taking the plunge. Literally.

You have the choice to write the story you’ll tell for a lifetime – and if you make it count, you’ll never tire of telling it.
