Trip Details

Does work have you stressed out? Feeling like you’re piling on more than you’re getting done? One of those days where all you want is a glass of wine and a hot bath to recharge and destress?

How about an entire vacation’s worth of pampered, relaxing experiences in a country that belongs on a postcard?

Get in some prime rest and relaxation with an indulgent spa and winery experience in New Zealand – with an emphasis on the relaxation.

Now, for that glass of wine we promised.

Start your trip off with a bit of vineyard hopping on Waiheke Island. With a nickname like “Island of Wine”, Waiheke Island needs no introduction. You’ll visit up to four of Waiheke’s finest wineries, meeting and greeting with local vintners.

Learn about the island’s humble beginnings that lead to it producing some of the best Sauvignon Blanc’s in the world. Of course, the wine will be flowing with tastings at each winery.

And don’t worry, if you’re not an amateur sommelier yourself, or you think a “bouquet” is just a bunch of flowers – the vineyard’s expert winemaker will be right there to guide you through your tasting. Depending on the season, you can even taste some oak-aged vino right from the barrel.

Then, board a luxury coach to Rotorua, the “Sulphur City”.

Along this full-day, scenic adventure you’ll drive through rural townships like Waikato, the largest sheep farm and dairy region in the country. If the Kiwi weren’t already the national icon of New Zealand – the sheep would probably take the crown.

New Zealand’s second most famous animal is an important part of their economy and you’ll see the small farming settlements that make their living using traditional farming practices.

After that, you’ll head to the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves. Tour the world-famous subterranean site and take a “black-water” silent raft cruise. Thousands of glowing, blue insects line the cavern walls for an ominous, underground light show. Then, continue on to the volcanic capital of New Zealand.

Geothermal RotoruaDid you know that New Zealand is in the Pacific “Ring of Fire”? There is so much geothermal activity that Rotorua was built right inside a volcanic crater, so don’t be alarmed when you arrive at that familiar sulfuric scent emanating the city.

Just think of it as the Earth’s magic at work right underfoot.

In Rotorua, you’ll visit the Agrodome Farm to tour the grounds of authentic, working farmland. You’ll see a proper sheep-shearing demo and see other animals that live on the farm.

Then, you’ll arrive at one of Rotorua’s most famous attractions. Te Puia Institute combines the best of Rotorua’s important Maori culture and geothermal wonders.

  • Whakarewarewa is the authentic, traditional Maori village that invites visitors into their backyard to share their way of life.
  • See demonstrations of traditional Maori woodcarving and weaving.
  • Explore an array of geysers, boiling mud pools and bright, colorful silica deposits that cover the landscape of the geothermal valley.

The next day, wind down and recharge with a visit to the Polynesian Spa. You’ll indulge in a variety of hot pools, mineral and akali baths. Soak in healing, detoxifying hot spas while you soak in the amazing view overlooking Lake Rotorua.

Queenstown From AboveAfter the most restful sleep of your entire life, wake up and jet off to the South Island for “Adventure Capital of the World” Queenstown. If the city’s nickname didn’t tip you off, Queenstown is loaded with activities for you to enjoy.

But first, settle into your new surroundings with a luxury, hot pools experience. Immerse yourself in a private, open-air hot pool surrounded by beautiful views and fresh, mountain air. This luxury spa indulges all of your senses from start to finish. Toast to a great evening with a couple of complimentary glasses of bubbly. Tease your taste buds with a seasonal, fresh fruit arrangement. Aromatherapy burners sweeten the air with an array of relaxing scents.

Feeling too relaxed? Try one of Queenstown’s adrenaline pumping activities:

  • Bungy jumping –  Try a 400 foot, adrenaline pumping leap!
  • Skydiving – Home to some of the best skydiving in the world. Four hundred feet not high enough? How about a 12,000-foot leap through the clouds?
  • Nature Exploring – Close to the pristine fiords, Milford and Doubtful Sounds, Queenstown makes the perfect starting point for the journey through farmlands and swiss-like alps to the dramatic fiord landscapes.  For a new perspective, consider a scenic flight or helicopter ride back into town!

Finally, embark on the Queenstown wine trail. You’ll visit two award-winning wineries, tour an underground wine cave and enjoy a wine-paired, gourmet lunch.

The perfect nightcap to a restful and relaxing week.

We think that once you get back from your trip, you’ll be ready for anything. The best part? You didn’t have to add more work to your ever-increasing load by planning a thing.

Putting all the parts of a trip around the world in motion can be tough.  From booking flights and hotels to communicating with shuttle services and tours, making sure everything is perfect can be a full-time job.
