Day 1 - International Flight, Los Angeles to Auckland (Check quote for inclusion)

Shortly after departing Los Angeles you will be served dinner and you will be given breakfast before landing in Auckland.

Relax, watch some movies, and try to get some sleep!

Days 2 to 4 - 2 Nights Accommodation in Auckland

Travel to your accommodation in Auckland, New Zealand, where you will be staying whilst on vacation for 2 nights.

Days 2 to 3 - Free Days to Explore Auckland

Visit one of Auckland’s many attractions.

Fly a kite or throw a Frisbee in the beautifully landscaped Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park. Critique a giant selection of both traditional and contemporary art at Auckland Art Gallery. Take a walking, swim or hike through any of Auckland’s 25 Regional Parks. Have a laugh at The Classic Comedy and Bar in Queen Street, New Zealand’s home of live comedy. Take the bus over to Eden Park, New Zealand’s largest stadium. In the evening you can join the dancing on K’Road and party on till the wee hours at one of the many nightclubs. Or maybe you would rather visit the trendy suburb of Ponsonby and enjoy delicious cuisine, superb lattes or cocktails if more to your taste. And if it is cafes, bars and restaurants you’re after, the Viaduct Harbour has a great selection.

Optional Day Tour (Not Included) - Waiheke Wine tour - Half Day

Visit three boutique vineyards in Waiheke Island and meet with local wine makers. Tour includes commentated scenic tour, wine tastings and time for lunch.

Known as “New Zealand’s Island of Wine,” Waiheke has become home to a dedicated group of award-winning wine producers. With a unique micro-climate and the winemakers’ philosophy of “small is beautiful,” Waiheke has produced some of New Zealand’s most prestigious wines.

On this tour, you will visit three of Waiheke’s top vineyards and sample a range of their wines. Along the way enjoy a commentated scenic drive, learning about the Island’s history, geography, people and culture from your knowledgeable local guide.

After your wine tasting experience sit back, relax and enjoy a lunch and a glass of Waiheke wine or beer at a local favorite before heading back to the ferry or your accommodation.

Visit a true thing of beauty and cruise the sparkling waters of Waitemata Harbour!



Head out on this one and a half hour tour to see the Devonport Naval Base, travel past the township and North Head, then cruise towards the iconic Rangitoto Island as you pass the historic Bean Rock lighthouse. You’ll pass under the Harbour Bridge twice and then off to Westhaven Marina to catch a glance at the viaduct harbour bustling with super yachts!

Optional Afternoon Tour (Not Included) - Wilderness Experience

Enjoy a wonderful afternoon visiting Piha black sand beach and immerse yourself in the incredible surrounding rainforest in this great introduction to New Zealand nature.

After being picked up at your hotel, your first stop is the visitor center which is the entrance to the largest native rainforest area around Auckland. The Arataki visitor’s center has dramatic panoramic views across the rainforest to both of Auckland’s harbors as well as views back to Auckland City. The visitor’s center is also home to some traditional Maori carvings and your guide will talk about them and explain their significance for the area.

Continue to the lush native rainforest where you walk the easy tracks among giant tree ferns. See and find out about the famous New Zealand silver fern, manuka, and kauri trees as your guide talks about what makes New Zealand nature so unique. They also talk about the original Maori uses for some of the native plants in the forest.

You will then move on to experience the power of the rugged west coast. You stop at a stunning viewpoint overlooking Piha black sand beach and the Tasman Sea before going down to this amazing phenomenon. There you get the chance to stroll along one of the most awe-inspiring beaches the world has to offer and watch the surf waves rolling in.

During the afternoon, there is also a New Zealand style afternoon tea including biscuits (cookies), manuka honey, coffee or juice. After tea you will be transported to your Auckland accommodation.

Day 4 - Day Tour, Deluxe Coach to Rotorua via Hobbiton & Waitomo

Travel from Auckland to Rotorua on a full day sightseeing tour, taking in the underground wonders of the Waitomo Caves and the silver screen magic of the Hobbiton Movie Set.

Leaving Auckland in the morning, journey by luxury coach through the lush farmland of the Waikato and King Country regions. Hear about the history of the region from your local driver guide as you pass sites of interest, including Rangiriri, the location of a major battle in the Maori Land Wars in 1863.

Your first stop is at the small town of Waitomo, where you’ll enjoy a 45-minute guided tour through the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Travel through these underground limestone caverns, discovered in 1887, and hear how the amazing stalactites, stalagmites, and other weird and wonderful rock formations were formed over a period of 30 million years. Finish off your subterranean tour with a short but magical boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto, a spectacular cavern illuminated by thousands of tiny glowworms.

A picnic-style lunch is served on board the coach as we cross the Central North Island and enter Middle-earth! Just outside the rural township of Matamata is the private farm that was transformed into The Shire for Sir Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. Day 5 - Free Day to Explore Rotorua

Enjoy some free time in Rotorua to explore this historic city!

Rotorua is a geothermal wonderland filled with a plethora of activities and attractions to check out. The region’s unique location is filled with hot pools, geysers, mud pools and geothermal activity.

Visit Waiotapu, where there are many sights to explore. Experience the Champagne Pool and waterfall filled with rich vibrant colours of the mineral salts, bubbling mud pools, craters, and Lady Knox Geyser when you visit. Arrive in the morning to see the Lady Knox Geyser at 10:15 am. For a full day of relaxation, visit the hot mineral pools and treat yourself to a relaxing Polynesian spa treatment that uses the local products (like a Rotorua mud wrap or manuka honey facial). Go Zorbing! Roll down a hill in an inflatable globe in this truly unique experience. There are different tracks to roll down with up to three people in the globe. You can choose to roll down with water in the globe for a fun time splashing around. For the adventure seekers, try Skydiving, the adrenaline rush of the jump will have you accelerating at 200 kilometres/hour. All the great views of Rotorua are best seen from 15,000 feet above.

Optional Day Tour (Not Included) - Geothermal Wonderland

This is an amazing half day, guided tour around two of Rotorua’s best known thermal attractions – Waimangu Volcanic Valley and Waiotapu.

Your tour includes transport, the hosting of an experienced guide and admission fees to these two most diverse and beautiful geothermal activity parks of the Rotorua region.

Waimangu Volcanic Valley was created only ‘yesterday’, as a direct result of the 1886 Tarawera Volcanic Eruption. It features huge hot water lakes, beautiful sinter terraces, hot springs and a diverse, specialised native forest growing down to the very edge of hot water lakes.

Ancient Waiotapu is 70,000 years old. A well-known visitor attraction and home to bubbling mud pools, hot springs, collapsed craters and the famous Lady Knox Geyser.

Optional Day Tour (Not Included) - Lake Taupo - Full Day

Experience attractions in the Taupo region.

On leaving Rotorua you drive past the start of the Kaiangaroa Forest (the largest man planted forest in the Southern Hemisphere) and head south, stopping on the way to view the hot water lake adjacent to Rainbow Mountain before arriving at Wai o Tapu ( Sacred Water ).

Here your visit takes in a wonderland of colour and thermal activity. See the Champagne Pool and the famous Lady Knox Geyser, erupting at 10.15 am, daily. Also the largest Mud Lake in the world. Your next stop is to see the Aratiatia Rapids when at mid-day the gates of this dam on the Waikato River are opened and provide a spectacular view of rapids filling the valley.

After the rapids it is on to the famous and awesome Huka Falls, another of the wonders of the Waikato River.

Arrive at the Taupo Lookout at approximately 1.00pm. On a clear day the Mountains of Tongariro National Park are visible (snow clad in the winter). . At this stage you relax and reflect on the wonders so far. After lunch some free time for a walk / shopping or just sit by the lake.

You will be departing the township at about 2.00pm .

A short stop at the NZ Honey Hive, where you get to see inside the bee hive, learn about the honey and join in the honey tasting. New Zealand fruit wines are also available for tasting. This is a very nice complex for all ages. Waiarakei Geothermal Bore fields Lookout followed by a visit to the Lava Glass Factory before returning to Rotorua.

Time can be allowed for Jet Boating and / or Bungy Jumping

Experience an evening of ceremonial ritual, powerful cultural performance, storytelling & hangi feasting.

Share in the Powhiri, our ancient ceremony of welcome before entering our pre-European Maori Village nestled within a native Tawa Forest. The village comes alive with sights, sounds & activity of days gone by including haka, poi, tattooing, weaving, carving and arts of warrior training. Optional Day Tour (Not Included) - Doubtful Sound - Full Day

Doubtful Sound is a beautiful fiord; three times longer than Milford Sound and a surface area ten times larger with twisting arms. With its rugged peaks, verdant rainforest and twisting, hidden inlets, Doubtful Sound will take your breath away.

The only way you can to get to Doubtful Sound is to cruise across the picturesque Lake Manapouri, followed by a bus trip over Wilmot Pass – New Zealand’s most expensive (and majestic) road.
Pause along the way to experience the dense Fiordland rainforest and view Doubtful Sound glistening below. This isolation makes this fiord a very special place, only those in the know get to see.
Once you arrive, you will board the Patea Explorer for a 3-hour cruise on Doubtful Sound – a spectacular pristine fiord. During the cruise, your knowledgeable and friendly skipper or nature guide will share with you their passion for the region. They’re always ready to answer questions, point out landmarks and provide all the information about the varied wildlife you may see, including dolphins, fur seals, and the rare Fiordland crested penguin.
Following the cruise, return to your Queenstown hotel by luxury coach.

Optional Day Tour (Not Included) - Half Day Tour, Safari of the Scenes - Wakatipu Basin

Spend the day taking in the breathtaking sights of the land around Queenstown; with time spent at ‘Lord of the Rings’ filming locations.

The perfect tour for those that want the thrills of an off-road adventure, but also want to discover exciting Lord of the Rings filming locations. The Wakatipu Basin tour takes you to The Remarkables, which were used as various mountains throughout the trilogy including the Misty Mountains. Travelling part way up Queenstown hill viewpoint you get a bird’s eye view onto Deer Park Heights, which was used for the refugees of Rohan and the Battle of the Wargs scenes. 

Travelling from The Remarkables viewpoint you will head to the Kawarau Gorge where the filming took place for the Argonath, or Pillars of the Kings. Leaving the Kawarau Gorge, the trip heads to Arrowtown where the loss of The One Ring at Gladden Fields was shot. Near Arrowtown you will experience a true off-road adventure. Following a historic gold mining road up the Arrow River you will cross the river many times to get to the Ford of Bruinen. At this point you can indulge in morning or afternoon tea and try your hand at a spot of gold panning. From Arrowtown you will travel to the entrance of Skippers Canyon where you will be offered spectacular panoramic views of the Wakatipu Basin and into Skippers Canyon.

Situated on picturesque Lake Whakatipu’s south-western shores, Walter Peak High Country Farm is an idyllic place. The farm tour itself is a wonderful interactive experience, with something to keep everyone entertained and happy. You will be greeted by your rural host upon disembarking the TSS Earnslaw, who will take you to the amphitheater, where you will watch the remarkable skill with which the farm dogs round up sheep from the paddocks.
