Where to find the best wine in New Zealand
North Island
The North Island of New Zealand is a diverse region for wine. Auckland is home to reds with a very intense power, the sunny weather in Hawke’s Bay provides great soil for its Bordeaux blends and Wairapa’s highly sought-after wine boasts staples like Pinot and Sauvignon, as well as sweeter dessert wines. Gisborne is as rich in culture as it is in flavorful wine from its staple Gewürztraminer grape. Many smaller wine regions are starting to make a name for themselves including wine in Matakana and Waiheke Island. South IslandThe south island has gorgeous Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc vineyards just waiting to be discovered by you.
